Werewolf

Description

One of the original sentient species of Mæva, the Gaoru are the last of the Shifters. They were noble warriors and artisans that helped the dragons tame the wildes even before Mæva became a utopia. Unfortunately, the forces of Outsiders killed their gods and infected them with madness, leaving them only their Spirits and Rage.

Template Benefit

Dragon frenzy still haunts all werewolves, and their bloodlines run thin and few. However, with the help of the lesser spirits they have regained a semblance of balance and nobility. No longer do they give into the Rage wholly, they instead strive for balance in all things.

Fuel and Health

The Werewolves are powerful shifters that can change form readily from a humanoid to a wolf or anything in between. Over the eons, they have learned to harness the power of the Rage that they were cursed with to an extent. More importantly, they have rebuilt the bonds with ancient spirits to the envy of the Spirit-Talkers. But Balance must be maintained, by giving into the Rage too much or relying on one's Gnosis (bond with the spirits) too much, they can easily fall to Frenzy or Dreaming.

Rotes and Special Actions

Werewolf society was able to rebuild itself but many of the distant tribes found their niche hidden among the humanoids. As such, hidden from others and often on the outskirts of society their Tribes developed different philosophies and beliefs. By gaining Renown with each Tribe, and familiarity with each Totem spirit, werewolves are granted Gifts, special abilities that they can use. Either by controling their Rage or using their Gnosis, they can utilize these gifts to remain hidden, speak to spirits, move at breakneck speeds or become even stronger.
